FLORA HUANG

Flora Huang is a leading Shanghai-based lawyer specializing in international family law (focusing on expat and HNW matters), corporate law, contracts and litigation/arbitration. She is also frequently called upon to provide evidence as an expert in Chinese law during the course of international court proceedings.
As a legal professional, Flora is recognized for her versatility, creative problem-solving and penchant for innovation. Her outstanding expertise has been recognized in her handling of countless complex corporate matters involving incorporation and corporate governance, in addition to serving as general counsel for numerous foreign-invested enterprises.

A legal pioneer, Ms. Huang has played a central role in developing the practice of foreign-related divorce (where one or both spouses are current or former expats living in China) and is widely considered as China’s foremost expert on complex international divorce and family law matters. In recognition of this expertise, Flora serves as a judicial mediator at the Shanghai Changning District People's Court dealing principally with transnational family law and international estate settlement.

In recognition of her integrity and expertise, Flora has provided expert evidence in relation to Chinese family law to numerous foreign courts, including those in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In addition Flora has been interviewed on multiple occasions by Chinese and foreign media alike, including by China Daily, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Marie Claire, SMG, CCTV, France24, and The New Yorker.

Flora graduated from China’s top East China University of Political Science and Law with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Chinese law with a specialization in international business. She is admitted to practice in all of Mainland China and is a full member of China Lawyers Association and the Shanghai Bar Association.

Flora is currently a Partner at Shanghai Kaimao LLP following nearly a decade at another leading Chinese firm.
